Aria, I’m not going to be your teacher anymore. We can grab a cup of coffee, go to a reading, we can live outside my apartment.
Can I just take a second to say how fantastic the puckleberry bubble is? With so much of the shit we have to put up with and have to shit through, we manage to constantly look on whatever brightside we can find. The two of them sitting near each other, looking at one another, the wink, and now this heart. We arguably get the least amount of time out of all the other ships on the show, yet we remain the most grateful. While other ship fandoms take for granted all their moments and scenes, we take our small “ninja” moments with open arms. Sure, we want more, but even when we don’t get it we still take what we’re given and love every tiny second of them. Just. All the awards to this bubble. You’re all perfect.

Do you see that girl over there? The one with the long hair that reminds you of the princesses in the books your sister’s always begging you to read to her before bedtime? The girl you dated for a week last year, the one who wouldn’t let you under her skirt but still managed to worm a way into your heart? Do you remember how you messed it all up when you were so preoccupied with Fabray? And how she wasn’t all that great about the relationship, either, because she’d still been in love with Hudson? Do you remember the sickening feeling in your stomach when you realized you would always be a second choice to him, and that she had been no different than any other girl?
Except…she was different.
Do you remember the way she came to you when she needed help making Hudson jealous? Do you remember the way you jumped to help her every time someone shot her down or made her look at you like someone kicked her puppy? Do you remember the way she made you do that awful music video when she was dating St. James and you agreed even though she wouldn’t make out with you? You would have done anything to spend that extra time with her, though you’d deny it if anyone asked. Do you remember the time you wouldn’t let her go further than kissing you on her bed when Hudson’s lie came out? You remember the way you knew, just knew, she’d regret it later and you didn’t want that burden on your shoulder. Not again.
Do you see the way she’s looking at you now? It’s hard to look at her often nowadays, because you’re with Zizes and she’s still pining after Hudson. Your girlfriend’s great, you know you like the chick. But her…you know you still carry a torch for her in the way you look the opposite direction when she smiles at you. You can’t help but smile back and that’s dangerous business now. Do you remember the way your heart kind of folded in on itself when she sang that song to Finn? The one you were rocking out on with your electric guitar - because, again, you can’t fucking say no to her - the one that you know she didn’t quite seem to get the meaning of. She’s never been really good at revenge/getting someone back songs. Do you remember the way you looked at her, watching her stare at Hudson like the world revolved around him and he was her sun and moon combined? Do you remember the way you swore to yourself that you were done with that shit from then on?
Well, don’t worry. She’s going to get over Hudson someday. And then, before you know it, she’s going to look over and see you the way you’ve been seeing her for over a year. And then, you’re going to marry her, almost before you realize what’s happening. You’re going to follow her to New York because she’s going to be a star and you won’t be able to be apart from her. You’re going to make a name for yourself, you’re going to prove everyone in this town wrong, because she believes in you. You’re going to watch her blossom, you’re going to watch her come into her own, and you won’t be able to take your eyes off of her. But that’s nothing new, isn’t it?
Remember this moment. Remember this day, staring at her from one end of the hall as she looks at you for just the span of a heartbeat. Remember it, because the way you see her is going to change drastically in the next few years. You’re in for one hell of a ride with her, and you’re going to love every crazy minute of it. You’ll get your girl and you’ll marry her, Puckerman. Just give it time.
